Drew had her gymnastics performance show today and it was amazing. R Athletics did such a good job of making it a fun show! It started with the really good older kids (including the two girls who just placed at nationals last week!) all over the gym doing the most amazing stuff... people flipping on trampolines, on bars, on beam, on the floor... every where you looked there was an amazing gymnast flipping or tumbling! It ended with the teachers doing a dance/gymnastics routine for us. That was just as amazing! You never know if they teachers actually still know how to do what they are teaching but now we know... they are AMAZINGGGGGG!! It was incredible!
First, all of the kids warmed up in a big circle. Drew loved that the big girls were giving high fives!
Stretching...
SO excited to be standing next to a big girl!!
Waiting for her turn with her group. Their first event was the floor!
SALUTE! She liked it so much she stood there so long they had to remind her to keep going with her 'floor routine'! :)
Spider walk up the mat. Drew typically does a somersault out of this position. It freaked me out the first time I saw it!
Next was her "vault" routine which consists of jumping on the trampoline...
Jumping through the 'vault'.
Thank doing a running somersault onto a mat and jumping, or flipping, in Drew's case, into the foam pit. It is her favorite part of every class!
Her "bars" routine was next. This is a 'soul hang'. I think her legs are supposed to be straight.
This is the cool thing they have hanging from the bar to help them get the motion of swinging around the bar.
Here she climbs up the mat into a flip.

Rings. Jon got a great video of this that I will try to load. Normally she just swings on it but today she did a flip!
Beam was next. I got great videos of this instead of pictures. After that was the awards show! They announced Drew's name and gave her a medal. She did her salute and I was so proud my heart was melting!!
This is her hopping off the podium. I wanted to get a picture of ALL of the balloons they had up. It was so amazing!
They also gave each kid a star with their name on it so we got another quick picture after the show.
And.. of course one with Clinton. aka 'my bro-ster'
Here is a picture of Drew and her teacher, Ms. Alyssa. Drew was so sweet and said she wanted to say thank you and give Ms. Alyssa a hug before we left!
Videos to follow!!
